Two employees of Kafubu Water and Sanitation Company (KWSC) in Ndola have died in unexplained circumstances, whilst unblocking a sewer line.
The two victims whose names have been withheld died yesterday at around 15:00 hours in the districts Central Business District area.
KWSC Managing Director Athanasius Mwaba who confirmed the incident in a statement expressed sadness and regret in the matter.
Mr Mwaba has also informed the Board Chairperson of the Utility, the Permanent Secretary Water Development and Sanitation Joe Kalusa and his Copperbelt counterpart Augustine Kasongo.
“KWSC will issue in due course a detailed statement on what could have caused the death of its employees whose names have been withheld. Investigations into the matter has since been instituted, while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited into Ndola Central Hospital,” he said.
