The Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy (KYSA) Board is optimistic the club will overcome its slow start to the FAZ National Division One season and win promotion back to the Super Division.
KYSA have made a steady rise on the National Division table after making a slow start to the 2020/2021 season.
Kabwe Youth are 10th on the FAZ National Division One table with 19 points from 15 matches played.
In their last match KYSA forced a 1-1 home draw against Nchanga Rangers in Kabwe.
Club board chairlady Mwansa Muntangama said KYSA won’t give up the chase for promotion to the top league.
Muntangama said competing in the Super Division helps the academy to market players to big clubs.
“I think we had a very slow start but we have started getting up the momentum and eventually I think we will be in the top four before the end of the league,” she said.
“KYSA is a team with a fighting spirit and we never give up easily and for us it’s going there in the Super League to market our boys because our motto is transforming lives through football,” Muntangama said.
KYSA, founded in 2015, has twice played in the Super Division.
“We believe that once players are in the Super Division that’s where we market and sell them to bigger clubs to give them a better life,” she said.
KYSA coach Humphrey Malikoni has assembled a mixture of young and experienced players among them defender Levy Zulu, midfielder Kabuka Maunga. and striker Mupeta Malambo.
