TP Mazembe defender Chongo Kabaso has demonstrated patriotism by accepting to play for Chipolopolo again just months after being unceremoniously dropped from the team and ejected from the camp.
Zambia coach Micho on Friday named Kabaso in his squad to face Algeria and Zimbabwe in the 2021 AFCON Group H qualifiers.
Chipolopolo will host AFCON champions Algeria in a must-win penultimate Group H match on March 25 in Lusaka before visiting Zimbabwe in Harare on March 29.
DR Congo based Kabaso was last October controversially banishment from the National Team after Zambia’s 2-1 friendly loss away to Kenya in Nairobi.
He went on to miss Zambia’s 2-1 friendly win over South Africa.
When requested to feature for the National Team this week, Kabaso gladly accepted the call-up.
The player has in the past spoken about his good working relationship with Micho even before the Serb became Chipolopolo boss.
‘I know Micho, we chat and we are like friends,” Kabaso has told journalists in the past.
