Judge Katenekwa fires shots at Tokota Boys’ families

By Nchimunya Miyoba in Kitwe
Kitwe High Court Judge Timothy Katenekwa has cautioned relatives to the infamous Tokota boys to desist from threatening witnesses in the ongoing case.

Judge Katenekwa was reacting to concerns raised by State Advocates who sought the Court’s guidance on the threats the complainant has been receiving from the relatives of the victims.

Judge Katenekwa said conduct likely to be prejudicial should be brought forward immediately.

He advised State Advocates to advise witnesses if any of them is threatened to report the matter to the relevant authorities.

“It is a crime for anyone to threaten witnesses and I will not hesitate to send such people to prison. This court will jealously protect the rights of witnesses; hence anyone trying to interfere in the case if found I will not hesitate to send such persons to prison. Failure to do so will result in drastic measures,” he said.

Judge Katenekwa said the court will not allow such lawlessness to creep into the country.
