They encountered the same lions Daniel had encountered, they were overpowered and had their bones crushed but no wound was found on Daniel.
“At the king’s command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions’ den, along with their wives and children. And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.”
(DANIEL 6:24)
It’s not about the danger you are facing, it’s about how you are facing it and the backing you have.
Daniel had an “overnight” with the lions in the den and came out without any wound but his accusers spent seconds if not milliseconds in the air and were overpowered and had their bones crushed.
It’s not about how much time you spend in a dangerous territory or situation, it’s about who provides company.
“My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions…”
(DANIEL 6:22)
Daniel enjoyed the company of an angel God had sent.
If you put your trust in God, you are safe. The living God will send a rescue team.
“Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without any entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep.”
(DANIEL 6:18)
The king was just trapped. He was distressed when he learnt that the person his leaders wanted to be convicted and thrown into the lions den was Daniel.
Daniel was put into the lions’ den, a stone was placed on its mouth and king Darius couldn’t sleep.
Like Daniel, sometimes we are put in a position where we cannot avoid the “lions’ den.”
If you cannot avoid the lions’ den, cause the lions to avoid you.
You can do this by putting your trust in God and before you know it, the mouths of the lions will be forcefully shut.
What could be done to cause Daniel’s situation not to change was done, but his situation changed because God intervened.
“A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel’s situation might not be changed.”
(DANIEL 6:17)
Your situation will change, no matter what has been done, provided you put your trust in God and you are innocent.
Daniel survived the lions’ den, his accusers failed to survive.
It was the same lions’ den and same lions.
What made the difference?
The presence of an angel God had sent.
You are going to survive because the living God is backing you and your accusers will not survive.
“Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”
(PSALM 125:1)
Fear not.
Put your trust in the living God.
We are safe, even in the lions den.
