The National Restoration Party (NAREP) says it is illegal for the Electroral Commission of Zambai (ECZ) to limit the time in which the Voter Registration exercise should be conducted.
NAREP President Stephen Nyirenda says the exercise is supposed to be an on going process to ensure all eligible candidates are captured; adding that ECZ is breaking the law by imposing a deadline.
Mr Nyirenda says the acquisition of both National Registration and Voter’s cards is expected to be carried out without any limitations as it is the people’s democratic right to have the documents.
He says ECZ has failed to do its job and that there is no transparency in the way they are conducting the voter registration process.
Mr Nyirenda was speaking when he featured on a program on United Radio this morning.
