Indian Armed Forces are today set to salute Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Deputy Commander Major General Kapotwe Chintu who died after an illness last week on January 11, 2018 in Gurugram City, in the Indian State of Haryana.

A sendoff parade will be mounted in his honour at the residence of Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga.

Foreign members of the diplomatic corps and defence advisers will join the bereaved family and Zambian diplomats accredited to India in paying last respects to Major General Chintu.

The plane carrying the late Deputy Commander leaves India on Tuesday morning and arrives in Zambia same day afternoon.

President Edgar Lungu swore-in Major General Chintu on October 4, 2018 as Deputy Air Commander.

General Chintu joined the Zambia Air force on June 22, 1980.

This is according to a statement released by First Secretary Press and Tourism at the Zambian Mission in New Delhi, India, Bangwe Naviley.
