The International Monetary Fund (IMF) technical staff is scheduled for a visit to Zambia next week.

The team will visit Zambia from September 27 to October 1, 2021.

This follows Cabinet’s approval of the Budget Policy Concept paper on the 2022 to 2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the 2022 National Budget framework.

During the visit, the IMF technical staff will receive an update on the most recent economic developments and prospects for the remaining months of the year.

The IMF team will also be working with the Ministry of Finance to understand the key policies and specific reform measures prioritized by the new administration.

The Ministry of Finance will further share key principles and priorities that will form ongoing 2022 budget preparations.

This is according to Treasury statement issued by the Ministry of Finance.
