Kitwe District Commissioner Binwell Mpundu says he has not received official communication over the rumoured transfer to Kaputa.
But Mr Mpundu has told The Independent Observer in an interview that should the rumour be true, he would go anywhere the President would send him even if it’s Kaputa.
He said he would wholeheartedly accept the transfer because he is a transferable employee.
He said Presidential appointments mean the President has trust in him and he would go to Kaputa and be part of the developmental agenda the President is spearheading.
“Those that know me should undestand that I’m a true loyalist who respect the President, therefore I cannot refuse his directives. Besides Kaputa is near my home in Chiyengi and it will be good to be near my people for the first time. I have led town life all my life and I feel this is my new expedition in Kaputa and it will gain me extra experience required to be a better leader.
“With those that have been with Binwell Mpundu, I argue you to take heart and not to be agitated because Kaputa needs fresh ideas and fresh blood. If the President doesn’t send us there, who is going to add value to the peripheral of Zambia,” he said.
Mr Mpundu who together with Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kangombe were blocked by State House Minister Freedom Sikazwe from welcoming the President said he expects official communication from the Head of State who is in Kitwe.
Mr Mpundu had aspired to contest the Nkana seat in 2016 but Alexander Chiteme was instead adopted on PF ticket.
This Nkana race to Parliament seems to have had no finishing line.
The beef between Kitwe Members of Parliament and the perfect duo of Mr Kangombe and Mr Mpundu has been unreputred volcano.
Mr Mpundu has six months left before the expiry of his contract which is renewable by the appointing authority.
