Zambias’ High Commissioner to Australia Frank Bwalya says he has not applied to contest the Lukashya parliamentary seat.
Mr Bwalya was refuting media claims suggesting that he is vying for the Lukashya Constituency.
“When someone asked if I had applied to stand as MP in Lukashya by election, my answer was casual,” am I the only Frank Bwalya?” I laughed it off,” he said.
Mr Bwalya said he has never applied to stand as MP anywhere.
He said for now he remains focused on his work in Australia
The Lukashya Parliamentary seat fell vacant after the death of Lukashya Constituency Independent MP Mwenya Munkonge.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia is yet to set the dates for nominations and elections for the Lukashya Parliamentary by election.
