Holy Communion stolen from Catholic Church

By Mercy Chewe
Thieves have stolen holy communion at St John Catholic Church in Kamfinsa, Kitwe.

The head of the Catholic Church in Kamfinsa Deanery Fr Ferdinand Banda said the incident happened on Monday morning.

Fr Banda said the thieves broke into the church building and stole a tabernacle containing holy communion.

He said the thieves also got away with two speakers and later abandoned the Genset they had stolen in a nearby maize field.

“Yes it is true; they stole the tabernacle in the early hours of yesterday. They entered the Church at St. John’s Kamfinsa. We reported everything to the Police in Kamfinsa,” Fr Banda has told Radio Icengelo News by phone.
