United Party for National Development Leader Hakainde Hichilema says he would not focus on an individual like his former vice president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) but focus on the ailing economy.
Asked after church service in Kabushi Ndola, Mr Hichilema said he had nothing to respond to GBM because he has his democratic right to choose the party he want to associate himself with.
Mr Hichilema stated that Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba became his family member because his children and wife were associating together at a personal level.
He says he would rather talk about the Economy that has hurt many Zambians than responding to an individual.
“My friend to me this is now how politics should work in Zambia.
GBM is my collegue, he is my friend. But i wont take pleasure to start responding to what he is saying.
The econony is bigger than GBM. So we are saying lets find solutions for the econony not showing hatred for your collegue. Politics must bring solutions not accusations.” He said.
And Mr Hichilema says in times like these, he looks up to God to to ensure that Zambia remains united and prosperous.
“Praise be to the Lord for the gift of life bestowed on each one of us today, tomorrow and the days to come.As we always say; the body of Christ is one and as such we must remain united across all churches.” He said.
“Alongside party officials, we found time to congregate at Lubuto Central SDA Church in Kabushi constituency, Ndola. It’s imperative that in dire times, such as these, We must always look to God to compliment that, which, we are doing in our own capacities,” he said.
