United Party for National Development- UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has been declared as the winner of the 2021 Presidential General Election.
Electoral Commission of Zambia Chairperson Esau Chulu declared Mr Hichilema as duly Zambia ‘s seventh President Elect around 02 hours.
Mr Hichilema has polled two million eight hundred and ten thousand seven hundred and fifty seven votes.
He has been declared winner from the results of 155 constituencies short of one as the consolidation of votes from Mandevu constituency was not tallied.
President Elect Hichilema was followed by his rival President Edgar Lungu of the Patriotic Front with 1,814,201.
Democratic Party President Harry Kalaba has taken the third slot with 24,879 votes.
Andford Banda of People’s Alliance for Change – PAC who is in the fourth position has polled 19,804.
Socialist Party President Fred Mmembe has grabbed the fifth position and gotten 16,379 votes.
Other presidential contenders who have trailed in the Presidential race with minimal votes are Party of National Unity and Progress President Highvie Hamududu, MMD’s Nevers Mumba, New Heritage Party President Chishala Kateka, United Prosperous Zambia President Charles Chanda, Unip’s Trevour Mwamba, Narep ‘s Stephen Nyirenda, PEP’s Sean Tembo, EFF’s Kasonde Mwenda, Third Liberation Movement ‘s Enock Tonga, ZUSD’s Lazarus Chisela and Leadership Movement ‘s Richard Silumbe.
