Education Minister, Douglas Syakalima yesterday dissolved the Board of Directors for Higher Education Loans and Scholarship Board (HELSB).
This was done accordance with section Six sub section One of the Higher Education Loans and Scholarship Act Number 31 of 2016.
Mr Syakalima also dissolved University Councils for Copperbelt and Mulungushi Universities.
Mr Syakalima also said that a new board and council members will be appointed once consultations are conducted.
He said this is in accordance with section 31 sub section one of the Higher Education Amendment Act Number 23 of 2021.
Mr Syakalima thanked all members on the board and councils for their services in rendering oversight, policy guidance and control to management in the respective institutions and wished them well in their future endeavors.
