Former Zambia Senior National Football Team striker Harry Milanzi has called for fair treatment of retired sportsmen and women in the country.
Milanzi who is also former NAPSA Stars Striker and Assistant Coach says most retired sports persons become impoverished after retiring and that this must change.
He said he decided to open a business after his career to sustain his livelihood and create employment opportunities for the youths but is facing challenges in regularizing his venture.
Milanzi has appealed to the Lusaka City Council to quickly look into his plight so that his car breakdown service business which is located in Lusaka’s Chilenje Area is operationalised.
He said he has been waiting for his licence for the past three months after writing to the town clerk at Lusaka City Council, but nothing has been forthcoming.
“I spent over KK100,000 to establish the business but is now the brink of losing his investment,” he said.
