Hands off National assets- Rainbow

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
The Rainbow Party says it is saddened by the reckless call to sale national assets in order to pay debts by some sections of society.

Rainbow Party National Spokesperson Dennis Kapukulo said as a serious political party and a stakeholder in development, the call is not different from privatizing the country.

Mr Kapukulo said this call is irresponsible and unpatriotic.

He said there is too much financial indiscipline among ministers, senior government officials and controlling officers as seen in the Auditor general’s report as well as financial intelligent center report.

“Not too long ago PF government removed fuel and electricity subsidies in order to have cost serving measures for the economy to improve and people were convinced, has this action yielded the desired fruits since the scrapping off the deputy ministers? The answer is still no,” he said.

Mr Kapukulo said all that shows the financial indiscipline hovering on Zambian soil not that the country doesn’t have money.

He said Rainbow Party under the Leadership of Wynter Kabimba will deal firmly with the root cause to the deteriorating economy after taking over power in 2021.

Mr Kapukulo said the party will definitely deal with financial indiscipline with the gravity it deserves and they shall be total sanity.

He said selling national assets without dealing with the real problem is not only a scandal but it is also criminal.
