Eastern Province Minister Makebi Zulu says bus operators must take responsibility in how passengers are handled.
Mr Zulu said that the bus operators must provide necessary sanitary facilities as well as reduce the number of passengers on each bus.
Addressing civic leaders and bus operators in Chipata, the Minister said the effects of the Corona Virus on Business is real and adjustments made are in the interest of passenger’s lives.
He said measures of screening being taken at Kacholoa area are part of government’s efforts to reduce the spread of the virus, and that bus operators must be supportive and take responsibility, as they are the major stakeholders.
Mr Zulu expressed happiness with compliance levels by members of the public in Chipata.
He said people have responded well to the sensitization messages and that matters of hygiene are being taken seriously.
