A-grade-nine pupil of Ndola’s Minsundu extension has committed suicide by hanging himself to a caprose in his bedroom.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said that the now deceased was staying with his mother and had a brief history of suffering from heart problems.
Mr Mweemba said on January 31, 2023 between 17:00 hours and 18:00 hours, his mother left him at home and went for prayers in the neighborhood.
He said before she finished the prayers, she received information that her son had committed suicide by hanging himself in his bedroom.
Mr Mweemba said the matter was reported at Mapalo Police post, after which police visited the scene and confirmed the report accordingly.
He said the body was found hanging to a caprose in the roof using a corded rope, and was later untied and taken to Ndola Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
