Grade 9 pass rate for 2018 has gone down 7.11 percent.
A total of 116,616 candidates out of the 255,449 that sat for the Grade 9 examination have progressed to Grade 10, the Ministry of General Education has announced.
The national progression rate to Grade 10 is 45.65 per cent from the 52.76 per cent recorded in 2017 giving a downfall of 7.11 per cent.
And out of all the successful candidates 58, 974 are boys and 57,642 are girls, according to Acting Minister of General Education Elizabeth Phiri.
Meanwhile Examination Council of Zambia Director Dr Michael Chilala said the 2018 Grade 9 examinations have gone down in history as most challenging due to rampant examination malpractices.
