Govt will fire health workers stealing drugs

Government has reiterated its stance to fire health workers involved in drug thefts.

Dr Malama was speaking when he toured Mwinilunga district hospital, in North Western Province.

And speaking later when he addressed health workers at Kaleni Mission Hospital in Ikelen’gi District, Dr Malama thanked the church for complementing government efforts to increase access to quality health services for Zambians in rural areas.

Dr Malama who was on a tour of Kaleni Mission Hospital in Ikelen’gi District – North Western Province says the church is an important partner that has continued to assist government by building and operating health centers.

The Permanent secretary urged health workers at the institution to work hard for the benefit of the people.

Dr Malama was however disappointed that work had stalled at the Ikelen’gi District Hospital which is being built by Asesco Limited.

He directed the contractor to quickly engage the Ministry to address some of the challenges causing delays in the completion of the Hospital.

And Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ) representative Golden Mwila has assured management at Kaleni Mission Hospital of continued support from the association.
