The National Team Trainer has started growing frustrated at the fact that he is yet to commit to a contract despite being unveiled and going down to work ahead of crucial assignments coming up and government reveals it is still having its thought about the matter.
Ministry of Sports Permanent Secretary Joe Kapembwa has reveal that the ministry is still having a thought on national team coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s proposed two-year contract, a month after his unveiling.
“His (Micho’s) contract is still under consideration. We are looking into the matter and we have been talking with FAZ” Kapembwa is quoted saying by the Times of Zambia.
The 50-year Serbian is now said to be growing impatient at the hesitation in having his contract finalized and has since threatened to quit should he remain uncontracted in the run up to the Chipolopolo’s crucial 2021 AFCON back-to-back qualifiers against Botswana on March 26 and 30 respectively.
FAZ vice-president Rix Mweemba last week aired his concerns at the hesitation in having the former Uganda boss’ contract finalized by the state and predicted complications in the near future should the situation remain unchanged.
Meanwhile, Micho completed a four-day training camp for local legion players on Wednesday in Lusaka as he prepares to name his 30-man provisional squad for the 2020 CHAN tournament set for April.
