Dear Editor
I write to appeal to government through the Ministry of Agriculture to find out a lasting solution to this artificial mealie meal shortage that is seemingly escalating into something else.
I have used the word artificial because we are all alive to the fact that FRA have enough maize stock in its reserves that does not warrant this mealie meal shortage in some parts of the Copperbelt and the country at larger.
This situation could be a ploy by those who have been against the New Dawn government and President Hakainde Hichilema’s ascendancy to governance.
The noise out there has been loud and clear and i think we don’t have the comfortbility of time to address this situation once and for all.
It doesn’t really add up to me as to why we should have this situation in the Country where FRA is boasting of abundancy in its custody. If its millers conniving to create this scarcity let it be investigated and those millers be brought to book.
This artificial shortage has created unprecedented pricing hiccups now, against our own people because of a free market economy, which government has no control over.
