The Professional Teachers Union of Zambia (PROTUZ) has described confirmations in appointments and upgrades for teachers as motivating and inspirational.

PROTUZ Director Public Relation and International Affairs Brian Mwila said the current prevailing positive will exhibited by Government in addressing numerous long standing human resource and administrative issues.

Mr Mwila said has commended the plans by government to upgrade about 10,000 teachers, who have upgraded their professional qualifications before the recruitment of 30,000 teachers.

He said the upgrading of teachers has been a thorny for years and the union is very much elated to hear such plans by Government.

“The union holds a belief that once teachers are upgraded, the move will not only improve the welfare of the affected teachers but will also help create more openings for unemployed teachers especially those with diplomas to be employed” he said.
