Chief Government Spokesperson Chushi Kasanda says that Government would not condone homosexuality behavior that was perpetrated by a group of people over the weekend.
Ms Kasanda described the behavior by a group of people at the weekend who marched at Lusaka’s showground chanting and carrying placards in support of homosexuality as irresponsible.
She said Government would not tolerate this behavior and anyone who decides to go against the law will not go unpunished.
Ms Kasanda who is also Media and Information Minister said that homosexuality is prohibited in Zambia as provided by the Laws of Zambia.
“Government is concerned that the group decided to use the permit that was given in good faith by Police to raise awareness against women and girls sexual and Gender Based Violence to champion an illegal and criminal cause. Police have since instituted investigations in the matter to bring the culprits to book,” she said.
She urged the public that as a Christian Nation, it is the duty of everyone to uphold the Christian values of morality, decency and human dignity in the manner they conduct themselves.
Ms Kasanda said citizens are advised to desist, at all times, any conduct or behavior, that is inimical to our Christian values.
