A-seven-year-old girl has died in a fatal road traffic accident after she was hit by a motor vehicle along Kitwe-Ndola dual carriage way.
The accident happened when the driver of the Rosa Minibus reg no.AOB 3594 who was moving from the direction of north (Kitwe) to south (Ndola) due to excessive speed, lost control of the vehicle and in the process hit into the pedestrian who was off the left side of the road
Copperbelt Police commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said this occurred on February 28, 2023 at about 17:10 hours along Kitwe- Ndola dual carriage way at Mulenga Township area near Chamboli junction, Kitwe.
Mr Mweemba said involved was a pedestrian of unmarked house in Mulenga Township, Kitwe who sustained a deep cut on the left side of the face, bleeding from the nose and died on the spot.
Also involved was a motor vehicle being a Rosa minibus which had no damages and it was being driven by Mukupa Kasapo 36 of Roan Township in Luanshya.
He said the body is lying in Kitwe teaching hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem. escaped unhurt.
