A-13-year-old Juvenile of Kitwe’s Kamakonde Township has allegedly been defiled by her boyfriend who she met recently.
The victim who is a grade 6 pupil at Twashuka Primary School in Mufurila is currently in Kitwe where she is supposed to start school.
She was defiled by her boyfriend only known by his nickname “Tumpa” a care taker at one of the unfinished houses in Kamakonde.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said that on January 23, 2023 at around 20:00hours, the victim was sent together with her 4-year old cousin by her aunty to go and buy popcorn at a nearby place.
Mr Mweemba said on their way back they met her boyfriend who was in company of another Male friend.
He said they joined and escorted her young cousin home but she escorted her boyfriend back up to his place Kamakonde.
“The boyfriend lives with three other males friends. After some time the victim decided to go back to her auntie’s place. The suspect did not allow her to do so and instead grab her and took her to his room where he defiled her three times through the night causing her to sustain bleeding and painful private part as well as general body pains. The victim did not go home after this,” he said.
Mr Mweemba said in the morning her uncle began to look for her from other family member’s homes and friends and later he spotted her heading in a different direction away from home.
He said the victim was asked where she had spent the night and she took them to the house of her boyfriend but there was no one there.
They later reported to the police who also visited the scene and found the suspect had run away. The victim was later taken to the Kalulushi General Hospital for treatment.
Mr Meemba said a docket of case has opened and no arrests made so far.
