An-13-year old girl of Luanshya has been defiled by her adult boyfriend.
This happened when the victim had gone to celebrate the New Year with her friends at Sashi bar of Butungwa Overspill in Luanshya around 01:00hrs on January 1, 2023.
Whilst there, she meet James other names not known a person who has been proposing love to her and she has been refusing his proposal.
The suspect took her to his place and he took advantage of her drunken state and allowed her to sleep at his house.
The suspect James then defiled her, causing the victim to sustain a painful private part.
Copperbelt Police Commanding officer who confirmed the development said the victim after getting back to her senses and realized that she was defiled, left the house, went and informed her mother, who later reported the matter to the police.
Mr Meemba said the victim was issued with a medical report form and the suspect is on the run.
He said the docket has been opened and manhunt for James has been launched.
In a similar development an 18-year-old girl of Mufulira has been raped by two men she can only identify if seen.
Mr Mweemba said that on December 31, 2022 at about 2000hrs, the victim went to Mwansanga bar in Francis Mukuka Township to enjoy her new year festive in the company of her friends.
He said whilst at the bar she started drinking beer and was joined by 4 men who started drinking beer with them.
“And on January 1, 2023 about 0200hrs, the victim decided to go home one of the men she was drinking beer with asked if he can escort her but she refused. She started off walking going home since it was not far from the bar. When she walked for a few meters away from the bar, she was followed by the 4 men she was drinking beer with. Two of them grabbed her and later took turns in raping her. After that, they all ran away,” he said.
Mr Mweemba said the victim sustained general body pains with the help of members of the public, she managed to report the matter to Kamuchanga police post, and issued with a medical report form.
