George Lwandamina has launched his reign as Nchanga Rangers head Coach with a 1-0 win over Red Arrows in a week 12 fixture of the FAZ MTN super League played at Nchanga Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Lwandamina, the former Zesco head Coach was appointment this month together with his technical bench after the firing of Robert Tembo.
In a stunning display of football at Nchanga Rangers Stadium, the match started with both teams showcasing their talents in the field of play.
In 20th minute Nchanga Rangers came close to scoring after Laurent Mwanza made an attempt with a good shot but denied the chance by Red Arrows goalkeeper Jeban Tembo.
Lubamba Angel from the airmen also had a golden opportunity to score the former club in 38th minute However, all his efforts went unrewarded and the first half ended 0-0.
The second half saw Brave Nchanga Rangers took a lead in 53rd minute with striker Laurent Mwanza breaking the deadlock.
In a bid to strength the team, In 57th minute Arrows head Coach Chisi Mbewe introduced Alassane Diarra to Thomas Zulu, Godfrey Ngwenya to Paul Katema.
Brave Nchanga Rangers introduced Bonwell Mwepe to Laurent Mwanza in 68th minute.
The game became tough and interesting as Arrows fought for an equalizer while Rangers pushing for another goal.
In 70th minute Angel Lubamba continued to threaten with powerful shots but his shot narrowly missed the target.
A setback for Brave in 78th minute as Elliot Kampukesa was substituted due to injury making a way for kaluluma Banda who changed the game.
The visitors intensified their efforts for an equalizer but their efforts did not pay off.
After 90 plus extra time the referee blew the final whistle and the game ended 1-0 in favor of Brave Nchanga Rangers.
Speaking in a post-match interview after the game, coach Lwandamina praised the boys for their outstanding performance against Red Arrows.
And Arrows coach Mbewe said that the team did not coordinate well hence the loss to Nchanga Rangers.
The win step out Rangers from the relegation Zone to 13th position on the log.
