Gender activist elated by retrieval of abducted girls

Gender Activist Beauty Katebe has paid tribute to members of the public and the Zambia Police Service for managing to retrieve 13 girls under abduction in Lusaka’s Chalala area.

Ms Katebe called for post trauma counselling to the victims following the horrific abduction and threat to their lives.

She urged members of the public to continue working with law enforcement agencies to make the environment conducive for the safety of women and children.

The Gender Activist said there was need for Zambia to get concerned with abductions of that nature as were not common in Southern Africa.

Ms Katebe thanked authorities for taking all the victims to a medical facility for quick Medical attention.

She further prayed that the suspect who was apprehended to help with Investigations would eventually aid police in arresting other suspects on the run so that the matter can quickly to a satisfactory conclusive end

Yesterday, Police with the help of brave citizens safely rescued Pamela Chisumpa together with thirteen other ladies that were held captive in a house in Chalala area of Lusaka.
