Police in Kitwe are investigating a matter in which a garden Boy is suspected to have stolen a pistol fire arm from a Chinese National.

This occurred on January 16, 2023 at 13:00hours at Mable Flats, Flat number O6 Riverside, in Kitwe in which M’He Zong Qs, a Chinese national, of the above address reported that his fire arm (pistol) make Taurus, white and black in color, with 49 rounds of ammunition, serial number yet to ascertained, was stolen by unknown person, though he strongly suspect his garden boy.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said that brief facts are that Mr Zong was shifting from Mable Flats to Casino Resident, and he had asked the security guard and one garden boy to help him pack his properties to the vehicle.

Mr Mweemba said when they finished packing, he took some goods for offloading.

“It was at this point he discovered that a security box that had the firearm with 49 rounds of ammunition, two magazines, and firearm licence was missing. He called the two who were helping him to pack the household goods to inquire if they had seen the box, and the garden boy who was identified as M’Kellys Chowa ran away,” he said.

He said Mr Zong decided to report the matter to police who later visited the scene of crime and interviewed the guard, who confirmed that after being questioned, the garden boy left the place before knocking off time and never returned.

Efforts to locate him were made but to no avail.
