First Quantum Mining and Exploration Limited has officially arrived in Luapula Province to commence mineral exploration for copper.
Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa said FQM who are operating through their subsidiary company called Copper Gama will start exploration in Milenge, Samfya, Chembe and Mansa districts.
Mr Chilangwa said mining is one of the seven sectors that the Luapula Expo and Investment Conference in 2017 captured.
He said FQM are optimistic as I’m that they is Copper in Luapula.
“If Copperbelt, North – Western Provinces and the Katanga Province of DRC with which we share borders can have copper, Luapula surely has. We share the same rock formation,” he said.
