Former registrar arrested for NRC theft

Police have arrested former Luapula Provincial registrar Dorothy Mukutusha, stores officer Edger Maluba and accountant Graham Halumamba allegedly stealing NRCs.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo told the Independent Observer that the three are charged with the offense of theft by public servant to have stolen 1500 NRCs valued at K3, 840.

Ms Katongo said the incident happened between January 10, 2019 and May 7 2019 between Lusaka and Mansa.

She said all the accused persons will appear in court on February 15 2021 in Mansa.

Ms Katongo also said Mubita Nawa   a motivation Speaker and Anthony Bwalya a business man have been charged with offences of Forgery, Uttering a false document and possession of property believed to have been stolen or feloniously obtained.

She said the incident occurred on January 10, 2019 and October 18 2020.
