Forest Rangers signs Zimbabwean Thomas Chideu

By CHINOYI CHIPULU
Super Division side Forest Rangers have bolstered their squad with the signing of Zimbabwean Thomas Chideu and Congolese Patrick Anfumu.

Chideu has joined from Harare City while Anfumu is from JS Banzano FC.

The two strikers have both sealed two year deals respectively.

Forest confirmed the signing of the duo on their Facebook page.

“Forest Rangers continue adding depth to the team. After announcing the arrival of Anfumu, from JS Groupe Banzano FC, the club is again excited to announce the signing of Zimbabwe International Chideu,”read part of the post.

Chideu and Anfumu both featured in friendly matches against Zesco United and Jumulo on Wednesday and Thursday.

The arrival of the duo will cushion the void that Ghanaian Adams Zikiru has left in the striking force.

Zikiru was Forest’s source of goals during his loan stint at the club from Zesco but has now joined Lusaka Dynamos on a permanent move.

He moved to Lusaka Dynamos during the January transfer window.

Chideu and Anfumu will compete for a starting berth alongside Ghanaian Moro Amenu, Peter Mwangani, Cameroonian Jules Tchio, Burundian Issa Bigirimana and Nigerian Quadri Kola.

Former Zesco forward Kola is Forest’ leading scorer with eight goals this season.
