The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation says following the announcement of the date of the State Funeral of fourth President Rupiah Banda, Heads of State and Government from Namibia and Zimbabwe has confirmed attendance.
The Ministry says Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania will be represented by their respective Former Heads of State, while Kenya, Eswatini, Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola will be represented at Ministerial level.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation also says the Former President of Botswana will also be in attendance.
Other dignitaries present will include representatives from the Republic of South Africa and Angola, while the Chairperson of the African Union Commission will be represented by a Commissioner.
The Ministry has also received several messages of condolences from across the globe on the passing of President Banda.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation also wishes to express its appreciation for the outpouring of sympathy and encouragement it continues to receive from the international community since President Banda’s demise.
This is according to a statement released by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
