Foreign based players roundup on foreign soils

Chipolopolo players abroad experienced mixed results for their clubs during the Saturday action.
In South Africa, Gamphani Lungu was introduced in the 62nd minute in Supersport’s 2-1 loss to Orlando Pirates in the Premier Soccer League fixture. Lungu’s immediate impact was when he was awarded a penalty which was missed by Bradley Grobler.
Matsatsantsa went on to miss another penalty, this time by Thamsanqa Gabuza. The Chipolopolo trio of Augustine
Mulenga, Justin Shonga and Austin Muwowo did not feature for Pirates’ first win since the resumption of the PSL.
2019/2020 season Golden Boot winner Mwape Musonda’s Black Leopards lost 1-0 to Amazulu and will need to grind out some results in the last two fixtures against Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns if they are to be assured of PSL stay next season. Musonda retained his captaincy role in the squad.
Elsewhere in Poland, midfielder Lubambo Musonda played 58 minutes as Slask Wrocław made it two wins in as many games when they thrashed Wisla Krakow 3-1 in the 2020/2021 Ekstraklasa league. The win sees them in joint first place with Gornik Zabrze. FAZ
In Russia, midfielder Klings Kangwa put in a decent shift and provided an assist for Daniil Khlusevich in Arsenal Tula’s 2-1 loss to Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League. Evans Kangwa played 68 minutes and was replaced by fellow Zambian, Lameck Banda who played the remainder of the game. Klings played 78 minutes.
Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu’s eagerly anticipated Austria Cup first round match for Redbull Salzburg against Schwarz-Weir Bregenz was postponed due to positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Bregenz team.
On Sunday, Edward Chilufya and Emmanuel Banda’s fourth placed Djurgardens IF will take on 16th placed Helsingborgs IF while back in South Africa, Cyril Chibwe and Salulani Phiri’s Polokwane City are in action against Bloemfontein Celtic.
Lazarous Kambole’s Kaizer Chiefs need a win against Bidvest Wits to keep their title hopes alive while a win for Mamelodi Sundowns over Baroka FC will ensure a spectacular finish to the 2020 PSL. Chipolopolo goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene will be looking for his third straight spot in between the sticks for the defending champions.
