First Lady Esther Lungu dates North-Western

The First Lady Ester Lungu is expected to visit North-Western province yet again today on June 19, 2019 Permanent Secretary has confirmed.

North-Western Permanent Secretary Willies Mangimela said that the First Lady is landing in Kalumbila district and then proceed to Mwinilunga district on an official program.

Mr Mangimela said Mrs Lungu will receive a school being built by World Vision Zambia in an effort to improve the learning and teaching environment for pupils.

World Vision is constructing a 1 x 3 classroom block valued at K489, 772 and a 3 bedroomed staff house valued at K380, 000 at Mapesho Primary School, 75 desks will also be provided to a tune of K43, 500 as well as desks.

This translates to a total investment of K913, 272 of education infrastructure.

The First Lady will also grace on the day of African Child which always falls on June 16, annually which is celebrated worldwide.

Chief Chibwika of the Lunda speaking people of Mwinilunga district has adopted the day to be commemorated annually in his chiefdom.

This will be commemorated under the theme ‘Humanitarian Action Zambia children first’ and this year’s commemoration marks 28th anniversary in Zambia.
