Family Development Initiative (FDI), a Faith Based Organization (FBO) has donated five (05) Drums, Stands and Basins to Solwezi Municipal Council to help towards the fight against spread of the Coronavirus.

During the handover ceremony held at the Civic Centre, Solwezi Mayor Nicholas Mukumbi thanked FDI for the gesture indicating that the donation will go a long way in saving lives as the entire country is still grappling with the Coronavirus.

Mr Mukumbi said the hand washing facilities will go a long way in the fight against COVID-19, especially that living in the new normal requires the frequent washing of hands.

He assured FDI that the donated items will be strategically placed in highly populated places such as markets and bus stations which are key establishments in avoiding the further spread of the virus.

He urged other well-wishers, Faith Based Organizations (FBOs) and the Business Community at large to come on board and support the Local Authority.

Family Development Initiative leader Knowledge Management Fatima Musa Ayemi said the organization decided to make a donation in order to supplement the work of the Local Authority and Ministry of Health in the fight against the spread of the COVID-19.
