FAZ to name new Chipolopolo coach next week

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has confirmed that a new Zambia national team coach will be unveiled next week.

According to a press statement from FAZ by General Secretary Adrian Kashala and made available to the ZamFoot Crew, The successful candidate is expected in the country next week to finalise recruitment process and to sign the employment contract.

“The Football Association of Zambia, in view of the urgency of the matter, will finalise the process to appoint the national team coach. The candidate is expected in the country next week to finalise recruitment process and to sign the employment contract.

Government as a major stakeholder has been notified accordingly.”

The Chipolopolo top job has been vacant since the departure of Belgian trainer Sven Vandenbroeck back in February. Green Eagles boss Aggrey Chiyangi has been acting in the interim capacity.

The Association conducted interviews in the past weeks and according to ZamFoot Crew sources below are some of the names who attended the interviews.

Vaselin Jelusic, He is a Serbian Manager, He has managed a number of national teams in Africa, including Angola and Botswana. He also coached South Africa PSL side Bloemfontein Celtic.

Luc Eymael, A Belgian football manager and a former footballer who recently managed Tala’ea El Gaish SC in the Egyptian Premier League.

Pierre Lechantre, He is a French coach who won the 2000 African Cup of Nations with Cameroon.

Tomislav Ivković, The 59-year-old Croatian manager was the head coach of Croatian top tier side NK Lokomotiva Zagreb/ZamFoot.
