The Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) have secured an international friendly for the Chipolopolo with Sierra Leone ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier clashes with Algeria and Zimbabwe.
The Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic coached Zambia will take on Sierra Leone on Monday night at National Heroes Stadium.
The Chipolopolo Boys will use the friendly to prepare for the Cameroon 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria which will take place at the same venue three days later.
After playing Algeria, Zambia will head to Zimbabwe on Sunday for the last game of the group.
FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala said in a statement that Sierra Leone will make a stopover in Lusaka en-route to Lesotho where they will face that country in Group L of the AFCON qualifier match on 27 March.
He said FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala and his Sierra Leone Football Association counterpart Christopher Kamara have finalised talks and committed to ensure the proper management of the friendly match.
“With the COVID-19 making it hard to organize international friendly matches, FAZ has welcomed the Leone Stars’ gesture to play Zambia,” he said.
Mungala said the match against Sierra Leone will kick off at 21:00 hours.
