Former Archdiocese of Lusaka Vicar General Father Oliver Mukunta has died.
Archbishop of Lusaka Archdiocese Alick Banda has confirmed in a Memo that Fr. Mukunta 62 died yesterday at 14:00hours.
Archbishop Banda said Fr Mukunta recently underwent three major operations on his hips.
He said the Former Vicar General was recovering well but his condition worsened this morning when he was being taken for review at St. John Paul the second Hospital.
Archbishop Banda stated that Fr Mukunta was then rushed to the Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Archbishop Banda said the Catholic Faithful will be informed of the funeral arrangements in due course.
At the time of his death, Fr. Mukunta was Parish Priest of Christ the King Kaunda Square Catholic Church and Formator at St. Dominic’s Major Seminary.
