Father, 2 sons struck by lightening

Lightning has struck a-56-year-old man instantly killing him and two of his children in Kawambwa district.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has identified the victims as Donald Kabwe and his two children Mutale Winston 7 and Dustus Mulenga 4 months.

Mr Hamoonga said the trio died on the spot.

This occurred yesterday around 14:00hrs at Ntenke Village, of Munkanta Chiefdom in Kawambwa District.

Mr Hamoonga said brief facts of the matter are that the Victims were in the house together with three other people, Jessy Mulenga 3, the wife to the victim, a Male Juvenile aged 12 and another Female Juvenile aged 3.

“At that time, it was raining and in the process, the house was struck by lightning killing the trio instantly. Fortunately the wife and the other two children survived unhurt,” he said.

The bodies of the deceased sustained burn wounds and have since been deposited in Kawambwa District Hospital Mortuary awaiting burial.
