The Eastern Water and Sanitation Company have embarked on the construction of a water scheme in Kacholola area of Nyimba district at a cost of over K800,000.

Company Managing Director Aaron Mulinda says the Kacholola start-up water scheme is an indication that the company is slowly repositioning itself to take up its expanded mandate to provide water supply and sanitation services to all areas of Eastern province.

Mr Mulinda assured the residents of Kacholola that the company remains committed to concluding phase 1 of the project ahead of schedule.

“The utility company is aware of the expectations of Kacholola residents and that his team is working hard to complete the construction of the scheme on time, the setting up of the scheme in Kacholola is a step in the right direction as the company strives to actualize its expanded mandate for water supply and sanitation,” he said.

Recently, Government funded the water company to respond to the water challenges in Kacholola area.

This is according to a statement issued by the company’s Public Relations Officer Moses Nsunge .
