Emmanuel Banda joins U-23 camp

The Zambia Under-23 Men’s Football National Team is expected to have a full house this afternoon in Malawi where they have set up camp ahead of Wednesday’s Egypt 2019 Olympic Tournament first leg qualifier against the junior flames.

France based Emmanuel Banda has already joined camp alongside Boston Muchindu who plies his trade in Portugal.

Team manager Hastings Ndovi told FAZfootball.com from Blantyre that three lads had joined camp on Monday.
“I have received Emmanuel Banda from France, Shemmy Mayembe (Zesco United) and Harrsion Chisala (Nkana). We are only remaining with Fashion Sakala, Enock Mwepu and Patson Daka,” Ndovi said.

The team is lodged at Cross Roads Blantyre and will play engage Malawi on Wednesday at the Kamuzu Banda Stadium before facing off in the return leg on Sunday (March 24) at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
Winner over both legs will face either Burundi or Congo Brazzaville in the final qualifying round of the November 2019 Egypt Africa Cup.

Top three teams at the eight team tournament will qualify to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Chambeshi has named the bulk of the 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup winning side in his set up that has set its sights on Olympic qualification.

Prior to the seven day international camp in South Africa, the team had been having weekly camps for six weeks as part of giving them the best possible preparations/FAZfootball.com.
