Eight apprehended in the case of Pamela

Eight people have been apprehended in Lusaka, in connection with the alleged abduction of mobile money agent, Pamela Chisupa.

This is in a matter, in which police are investigating the disappearance of Pamela, who was reported missing on April 13, 2022, from her mobile money booth in Lusaka’s Central Business District.

Home Affairs Minister Jack Mwiimbu, confirmed to the media at briefing in Lusaka the detention of the 8 suspects, whose identities he has not disclosed.

Mr Mwiimbu also said that when police apprehended two of the suspects, they also recovered two mobile phones, belonging to Pamela.

“The 8 suspects are also connected to several other mobile money scams and vehicle thefts as well as drug related crimes in Lusaka,” he said

Mr Mwiimbu said a team of Zambia Police, Zambia Information Communications and Technology Authority and other security wings, have since made headway in the investigations.
