Mr Chipoka also commended the contractor on site called Wellma, which is based in Chingola for taking up the mandate to construct the classroom block.

The contractor Wellma said the classroom will be handed over this October.

“This is elating to see local contractors being awarded contracts, I want to call upon other local contractors to come out and be heard, because time has come when contracts are awarded to the local companies so the residents can fully benefit,” he said.

And head of Department at Chabanyama Sylvia Mpunya appealed for desks as the classroom block is 85% complete.

She said that the school as it is has a limited number of desks, so it will wise if government can donate desks that will be used in the new classrooms.

And Mr Chipoka assured that the new government puts education first and it will ensure that Chabanyama combined is provided with enough desks to carter for all the pupils.

He said the UPND’s mandate is to walk the talk so that every Child gets the desired education without any difficulties.
