Chingola District Education Board Secretary Noah Simulunga says Education is key as it anchors on everything hence Teachers needs to be valued because of their enormous contribution to the wellbeing of a person.
Speaking in an interview with The Independent Observer, Mr Simulunga said that education gives broader understanding on what goes on in other professionals hence it is the heart of Education Recovery.
He said this year’s Theme ‘Teachers at the heart of Education Recovery’ cannot have come at a better time than now.
“As educationist we are not limited or confined to one sector, we tend to be broad in everything that we do, even when we are carrying out research on a particular subject, so that we contribute effectively.
“As human beings we cannot match what reward we can give to the teacher but only the almighty God can reward them,” he said.
He said that Teachers day is an important day to the teaching fraternity because without it all other professions would be irreverent.
Mr Simulunga has called on the teachers in the District and the nation at large to celebrate responsibly as they reflect on today’s theme.
