Mulonga water and Sewerage Company has reserved €5 million euros for water and sanitation projects in peri-urban areas.
Mulonga Water Managing Director Kanyembo Ndhluvo said a number of settlements outside Mulonga Water coverage areas are fast growing but have not been traditionally prioritized due to a number of factors.
Mr Ndhlovu said the company has earmarked the peri-urban as one of its main priority areas on the expansion of water and sanitation program in peri urban areas.
He said this is improving its ability to provide water and sanitation services to a broader more inclusive customer base in a sustainable manner.
The MD said no one should be left behind in accessing clean and safe water regardless of their status in society.
