The Government in partnership with ZAMTEL and the Examinations Council have launched two E-learning platforms to help pupils continue with lessons during the closure of schools due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Minister of General Education David Mabumba says the COVID-19 prompted government to be innovative in providing education to pupils while schools were closed.
Mr Mabumba said this when he launched the national e-learning portal and the Smart Revision portal.
The e-learning portal will provide pupils with various educational resources including e-books and a virtual library.
The Smart revision portal will provide learners with past examination papers with model answers and revision tips for exam grades.
Mr Mabumba said government will continue to improve the education sector by digitizing learning resources for both teachers and learners.
And, ZAMTEL Chief Executive Officer, Sydney Mupeta said learners and teachers can access the portal free of charge while schools are closed.
He said some of the resources are interactive so that learners are able to evaluate their understanding.
The website for smart revision is www.smartrevision.co.zm and the e-learning portal is on www.e-learning.co.zm.
The Smart revision website is supported by the Examinations Council of Zambia which provided past examination papers.
