Dr Manasseh Phiri, a doctor better known for broadcasting, music and activism for HIV and cancer was this afternoon cremated at St Ann’s crematorium in Lusaka at a simple and private ceremony of about 400 relatives and friends.
At 15:50 hours, the body in a ‘simple’ brown coffin lay in state for a few minutes as a Catholic priest committed the body the body to the furnace.
At 16:00, the procession was dismissed as per his ‘wishes’ to keep it simple without pomp.
