Democratic Party (DC) has won the court case in which it had sought for judicial review in a matter where the party had been de-registered by the Chief Registrar of Societies.
High Court Judge Sharon Newa went on to state that the decision previously taken by the Registrar of Societies was not only illegal but irrational, unreasonable and procedurally improper.
Judge Nawa said the Registrar of Societies has been directed to issue the DP with a duplicate certificate of registration.
The DP was de-registered on June 6 2018, by the Registrar on grounds that it had not addressed the issue of why it should not be cancelled.
DP National Spokes Person Judith Kabemba expressed gratitude to party members across the country, sympathizers for the resilience, endurance and determination demonstrated through out the struggle.
Ms Kabemba said has advised Leaders in the structures across the country and members to go flat out and begin the national wide mobilization.
“However, we believe that the time that the party has lost in this process will surely be recovered soon because Zambia needs change and that change is what is going to give us a platform.
“Let me state that the nation will be availed with the full judgment of the court. The party will further advice it’s members soonest on other activities that will be lined up, she said.
